Welcome. This blog has been a long time in coming for us. As much as we’ve longed to share our thoughts and experiences on this tea adventure we’ve been on, it has taken us this four plus years to get here.
So, to those of you who are just getting to know us, let us introduce ourselves. The Steeping Room was born from the dreams and brainstorming of Emily Morrison and Amy March. Amy brought her background in holistic health, gourmet natural cooking, and years of study of Eastern energetics, herbs and teas. Emily joined with her background in restaurant service, management and holistic health. They brought together their love and study of food, tea and wellness, worked three jobs each and wrote business plans into the dawn. Three years and many considered sites later the team was assembled, the walls were raised and The Steeping Room was born in 2007.
For us, The Steeping Room is about several things:
First, the tea. We love tea. We respect tea. We taste tea tirelessly throughout the year to bring you the very best that we can find. We believe that tea is like wine, only you can drive after. ;)
Second, the food. We love good food, real food. We want all food lovers to be able to enjoy our offerings. We have created a menu influenced by the teas that we serve and the cultures that they come from. We have an all scratch kitchen and bakery and offer selections that include natural meats, organic dairy, gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options.
Finally, the people, the true heart of TSR and the tea experience. For us, tea is about community, joining together with your favorite people or your favorite book, allowing the tea to lift you to commune with your highest self. Lofty, we know, but at the end of the day, what we have is each other.
What is this blog for? To share with you our favorite teas, tell you about a new discovery, keep you up to date with happenings in the tea world. We will also bring you tales and tidbits from our kitchen, and sometimes, maybe, just take you on a ramble about the day.
Thank you for joining our adventure!
